Biography

Zhu Shan, Associate Chief Physician and Associate Professor, Visiting Scholar and Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, USA. Member of the Plastic Surgery Branch of the Chinese Medical Association and Member of the Plastic Surgery Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association.
She began clinical practice in 2000, with meticulous surgical technique, superb operative skills, and extensive clinical experience. Over the years, she has devoted herself to the study of facial aesthetics and comprehensive scar treatment, accumulating rich clinical experience, and is able to perform relatively intricate plastic surgery procedures such as free flaps and microsurgical suturing.
Zhu Shan graduated from the Graduate School of Peking Union Medical College. In 2012, she was selected through the Outstanding Young Talent Program of Plastic Surgery Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and went to the Department of Plastic Surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, ranked first in the United States, for visiting study. She also worked as a postdoctoral fellow for one and a half years in the VCA (vascularized composite allotransplantation) laboratory, during which she participated in multiple basic research projects. 
As a major contributor, she participated in several major research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Key Clinical Discipline Project of the Ministry of Health, and Doctoral Program Foundation of Institutions of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education. She independently led the Institute/Hospital Fund Project of Plastic Surgery Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and the Research Fund of the Excellent Young Physicians Relay Program of Plastic Surgery Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. She has attended many international academic conferences and given presentations, discussing new advances in plastic surgery with domestic and international experts and scholars. She integrates internationally advanced and domestically leading plastic surgery techniques with mature repair methods to establish optimal reconstructive treatment models. In daily life, she has a love of art and wide-ranging interests, seizes various opportunities to improve her artistic appreciation, and strives to ensure that every patient leaves satisfied.
